Basura Bash
In 2024, River Aid San Antonio served as lead organizer for the 29th annual Basura Bash, the largest single-day community cleanup event in Texas. Started by a team of dedicated volunteers in 1995, the event has collectively involved more than 45,000 participants. In 2024, 1,716 Basura Bash volunteers removed 70,400 pounds of waste from 23 sites across San Antonio.
Water quality monitoring
As a participant in the Texas Stream Team network, River Aid San Antonio volunteers conduct monthly water sampling on Salado and Alazan creeks, streams both affected by urban runoff.
